Emitter and detector pair, Type 4 to IEC 61496, for general machine guarding on presses, robot cells, CNC tables and machine openings. Choose the detection capability for what has to be protected (14 mm fingers, 22 to 38 mm hands, 82 mm body and access) and the protective field height that covers the opening. Protective field heights from 300 to 1800 mm in 150 mm steps. 14 mm resolution to 1200 mm.

Questions before you buy
What is included with a light curtain set?
One emitter and one detector column of the height and detection capability you pick. Cables, mounting brackets, mirrors and a safety relay or wiring box are separate items, listed on the machine safety page. If you are not sure what goes with your machine, send the make, model and the opening to guard and we will put the full set on one quote.
How long does delivery take?
Machine safety parts ship from Montreal, usually within two weeks of the order. Freight is quoted to your site.
How do I pick the detection capability?
14 mm detects a finger and can be mounted closest to the hazard. 20 to 30 mm detects a hand and suits most presses and press brakes. Coarser resolutions need more distance between the curtain and the hazard. Our light curtain article walks through the safety distance formula with a worked example.
Do I need a safety review before installing?
In Ontario, adding or changing a safeguarding device on a press can trigger a pre start health and safety review under Regulation 851. Plan for it before the parts arrive.
Can my company pay by purchase order?
Yes. Company accounts can pay by purchase order on approved terms. Orders over $10,000 are always paid on invoice.
